Tonight: Cuba Canta substitutes for Avoctja and Raquel Aguirre on Musical Colors on KPFA-FM.
We will start off the show with a potpurri of Danzones recorded from 1916 to 1959. We will then interview members of Orquesta "La Moderna Tradicion" our local Charanga, as well as playing some of their music. Following that we will play some music from Cuba's big bands [Jazz Bands] and Conjuntos. We will complete the program with music from Cuba's new generation with some Timba, Reggaeton, and Hip-hop cubano.
