Tonight’s program features “News Headlines from the Americas” and a conversation with Majo Calderon of Education Without Borders, on the used vegetable oil journey from Oakland to Chile, stopping to work with sustainable communities along the way.

We’ll hear Adrian Arias discuss his upcoming De Young Museum exhibit “Beautiful Trash” inspired by the island of floating plastic trash in the Pacific Ocean and about its artistic audience-participation transformation.

Author, Daniel Alarcon tells us about the new young Latin American authors available in English and the events around the question of “The Future of Spanish Language Literature”.

Journalist, Eva Martinez of El Tecolote and Musicians, Susan Pena and David Govea of the Familia Pena-Godea keep us posted on the upcoming Encuentro del Canto Popular concert in its 29th season honoring KPFA and KPOO Dj’s Emiliano Echeverria, Avotcja, Chata Gutierrez and Luis Medina. La Raza Chronicles is proud to feature Emiliano Echeverria’s “Radio Cuba Canta” on a monthly basis.

We are also excited to bring part 2 of our new ongoing early California history feature: "Voices from the Peralta Hacienda".
